Anas Abdullah AlviAnas Abdullah Alvi was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the year 1996. He has received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degrees from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2020 and 2018 respectively. He has also received Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems from University of Nottingham, UK; University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy and University of Oviedo, Spain in 2021. Previously, he has worked as a lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at World University of Bangladesh and American International University-Bangladesh. His general research interests are power electronics, power systems and renewable energy. Currently, he is pursuing PhD at University of Extremadura where he will focus on developing a virtual power plant (VPP) to aggregate different sources of renewable energy which is able to work both isolated and connected with other VPPs. |

He is currently a PhD student at the Gdansk University of Technology, Poland and a researcher group member in project SMARTGYsum “Research and Training Network for Smart and Green Energy Systems and Business Models”. Mahyar HassanifarMahyar Hassanifar was born in Urmia, West Azerbaijan, Iran, in 1995. He received a B.Sc. in electronics and M.Sc. in power electronics (First Hons.) from Urmia University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He was a research and teaching assistant at Urmia University for several semesters. He has been working on multilevel inverters for the past three years, mainly focused on new topologies. He has hands-on experience with different laboratory prototypes as well as experience on working with MATLAB/Simulink environment and Code Composer Studio (for coding on DSPs). His current research interests include design, control, fault detection, and fault-tolerant of multilevel inverters and applications of power converters in FACTS and Smart Transformers. He was involved as an author or co-author of four journal and ten IEEE-indexed conference papers. At the fluent level, he speaks English, Persian, and Azeri. |

Currently he is working in France as a Research Engineer at Siemens pursuing a PhD with the University of Technology of Belfort Montbéliard. He received his Erasmus Mundus Joint MSc in Smart Cities and Communities (SMACCs) from the Heriot-Watt University in 2021. Moreover, he received his second MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Mons. He had completed his B.Sc. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with an honor "Magna Cum Laude" from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2018. Currently, he is an early-stage researcher at Bocconi University, working on the development of market solutions and business models for distributed and sustainable EES.
